Local Area Information

Selcuk is a small pretty town situated in the Aegean region of Turkey, 70 kilometres south of Izmir, this lovely town has all that is needed for a comfortable stay, including a variety of good restaurants, bars, cafes, interesting shops, banking. The local beautiful sandy beach is only 8 km away and just by the natural bird reserve.

Besides the historical richness of the area, there are many places of natural beauty surrounding the town; mountains lined with olive and fruit groves circle inhabitants.  The cultivation of cotton, olives, grapes, and citrus fruits is the driving force in the economy in addition to the tourism industry.  Despite being known technically as a ‘town’ Selcuk has a distinct ‘village’ feel about it, the quiet, parked tractors and slow pace of life reinforce this image.

Selcuk makes the perfect base for enjoying and exploring the many wonderful sites and scenery in the area.
